Jackson Hole Ice Cream: Here’s the Scoop

Jackson Hole Ice Cream

You’ve hiked, you’ve sweated, you’ve waited patiently for that gaggle of tourists to finally pull off the road. (Yes, we all see it. It’s a moose. Please stop blocking traffic.) Now you’re sunburned, dusty, and craving something cold. Here’s where to get the ice cream you deserve in Jackson Hole—no judgment if you order a double scoop.

1. Moo’s Gourmet Ice Cream
Organic, house-made, and actually worth the hype. Their huckleberry flavor is a local rite of passage, and the sorbets hit the spot whether you’re dairy-free or not. There’s usually a line, but you probably waited in line to see a few distant bison on the way here, so you can handle it.

2. Cream + Sugar
Small-batch ice cream made in Jackson. Check out their brick-and-mortar shop on the south side of Town Square. Grab a pint from the store or from select grocery stores and enjoy it under the Tetons.

3. Jackson Drug
Step back in time at this old-school soda fountain on the Town Square (dating back to 1919!), where the milkshakes are thick enough to count as dinner (but they have great actual dinner, too). Their locally sourced ingredients make your splurge feel practically responsible.

4. Yippy I-O Candy Co.
Technically a candy shop, but they also serve ice cream and fudge that’s perfect for following through on that bribe you offered so the kids would go on that seven-mile hike. Wander through barrels of saltwater taffy before grabbing a scoop.

5. Victor Emporium
If you’re coming back over Teton Pass, make a detour to Victor for their legendary huckleberry shakes. This small-town stop is a local summer tradition, and the shakes are so thick you’ll need a spoon and the patience you didn’t use on the trail.

Honorable Mention: Flat Creek Inn convenience store

Yes, we included ourselves. Because yes, we have ice cream too. If you’ve got too much on your plate to stop in town for something cool, we’ve got you covered. Swing by the freezer on your way out!

After a day of adventure, there’s nothing better than a cold scoop in hand while the evening light hits the mountains. Bring it back to Flat Creek Inn, sit outside, and let the kids run around while you recover. Because tomorrow, the mountains are calling again—and you’re going to need that sugar energy.
