If Leonardo da Vinci had been into hiking and North Face jackets, he’d have loved the Jackson Hole’s art scene. Especially the 2026 Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival, which runs September 9–20. The festival will bring together nationally acclaimed artists, local galleries, live demonstrations, and more artsy events than you can shake a paintbrush at, all against the backdrop of the Tetons.
Grizzly 399 Sculpture Unveiling
September 9, 5 PM
Remember Grizzly 399? The famous mama bear who tragically died a few years back? (We’re still not entirely over it.) This fall, she will be immortalized with a permanent monument near the Jackson Hole Wildlife Museum’s front entrance.
Palates & Palettes Gallery Walk
September 11, 5-8 PM
One of the most popular evenings of the festival, Palates & Palettes (whoever thought of the wordplay there, give yourself a raise) invites visitors to stroll through Jackson’s galleries while enjoying refreshments, meeting artists, and exploring new exhibitions. Think of it as a progressive dinner, except with more paintings and less awkward small talk.
Western Visions Exhibit Opening
September 12
Western Visions, the National Museum of Wildlife Arts’ largest and longest-running fundraiser, unites wildlife artists and art collectors from around the world. Pro tip: you’re gonna need more than whatever change you fish out of the couch for this one.
Arts on the Green
September 13, 10 AM - 5 PM
Featuring some of Jackson's finest artists, this fair goes far beyond just painting. Held on the lawn of the Center for the Arts, it showcases art made of ceramics, fibers, glass, and much more. Oh, and there's live music and food too, so there's no reason to miss it.
Fall Arts Festival Art Walk
September 16, 5-8 PM
Come enjoy an evening of arts, community, and culture as more than 20 local galleries open their doors. It's like a pub crawl, but with art.
QuickDraw Celebration
September 19, 8 AM - 1 PM
The QuickDraw Celebration is easily one of the festival’s signature events. (Get it? “Quick draw” as in Wild West shootouts, and also as in drawing art quickly—wait, come back!) Artists have just 90 minutes to create an original painting while spectators watch from start to finish. Once completed, the paintings are auctioned to benefit local arts organizations.
The Jackson Hole Art Auction
September 19, 12 PM
Collectors and casual observers alike enjoy the Jackson Hole Art Auction, featuring exceptional Western, wildlife, and landscape artwork from established and emerging artists. Even if you’re not planning to bid, it’s worth attending to see remarkable pieces and experience one of the festival’s marquee events.
