Thanksgiving Week Events in Jackson Hole (2025 Edition)

Last week, we covered Thanksgiving dinners you could make out in the wilderness. But that’s just the tip of the cranberry-flavored iceberg. There’s plenty of Thanksgiving merriment to be had in Jackson Hole without involving any wilderness, if that’s your thing. Here’s a selected list of the biggest events in Jackson over Thanksgiving weekend this year:

Turkey Trot

Date: November 27, 9 a.m.

Location: Stilson/Village Road Transit Center, Moose Wilson Rd, Wilson, WY 83014

Cost: Free (suggested donation: $5/person or $20/family)

A free, untimed 5K community run where festive sweaters are encouraged. (Feel free to time yourself if you insist on being competitive.) You could argue that the real race happens before the starting line, because the first 200 participants to arrive receive Turkey Trot swag. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers and the best dressed. Dogs allowed on leash.

Free Community Dinner at the Elks Lodge

Date: November 27, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

Location: Jackson Hole Elks Lodge #1713

Cost: Free

The Elks Lodge is sponsoring a welcoming Thanksgiving meal open to the entire community. It's a great option for anyone who wants the holiday meal without the cooking, or for anyone without family in town who wants to make some new friends and new memories.

Annual Town Square Lighting

Date: November 28, 5–7 p.m.

Location: Jackson Hole Town Square

Cost: Free

Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with music from the Jackson Hole Community Band and Choir. At 5:30 p.m., the Town Square lights switch on, followed by Santa arriving via fire truck (the reindeer are on strike, perhaps). Complimentary cookies and hot cocoa are provided by Snake River Roasting Company.
