S’more, Please: 6 S’mores to Satisfy Your Summer
Summer is in full swing in Jackson Hole and that can only mean one thing. It’s s’mores season! Find me a combo that’s more quintessentially summer than gooey marshmallow, melty chocolate, and a crunchy, sweet graham cracker. Go on, I’ll wait. Sitting around a campfire, toasting marshmallows while laughing with family and friends is one of my favorite elements of summer. In honor of that, I present you five of my all-time favorite s’mores variations.
If you feel like maybe the classic s’more isn’t decadent enough for you, try sandwiching marshmallows and chocolate between MORE marshmallows and chocolate. There are two variations of the s’moreo. First, you may choose to use only one Oreo. In that case, separate the Oreo into two sides. Hopefully you’ve managed to get the filling all on one side. Holding the Oreo half filling side up, layer on your chocolate chunk and your toasted mallow. Top with remaining half of Oreo and devour.
If you want to go wild and use two Oreos (good decision), put your chocolate chunk and toasted mallow on a whole Oreo and top with a second whole Oreo. Enjoy.
The Peanut Butter Dream
Besides marshmallow, chocolate, and graham cracker, is there a better combination than peanut butter and chocolate? No, I submit that there is not. For this variation, simply swap out the chocolate chunk for a mini Reese’s Peanut Butter cup. Or a regular sized one. No one’s watching. Top with that gooey marshmallow and sail away into the sunset with your peanut butter, chocolate, and marshmallow concoction.
Here’s where we get fancy. Start with the graham cracker, liberally spread some strawberry jam on said cracker (or raspberry, blueberry, boysenberry, or orange marmalade. Again, no one is watching). Layer on the chocolate chunk and the marshmallow and top with the second graham. It’s a flavor explosion in your mouth.
The Nutella Delight
This one’s for my mother-in-law. She loves Nutella more than any other person I know. And for good reason, right? Here we go. Spread a little (or half a cup, depending on who you are) Nutella on that graham cracker. Toast that mallow to perfection, pop it on top, and the sandwich on the second half of the graham cracker. Your friends and family will laugh as your eyes glaze over the second you bite into this dreamy variation.
Similar to the Nutella Delight, the Cookie Monster is a delicious variation sure to make your wildest dreams come true. Haven’t heard of cookie butter? Go to your nearest grocery store and pick some up. It’s basically smashed up gingersnaps or something. I can eat it with a spoon. For this s’more you’re going to do exactly what you did for the Nutella Delight. Take half your graham, spread it with cookie butter, top with chocolate chunk and marshmallow, sandwich with second half of graham cracker. It’s elegant, yet homey.
Because you’ve been such delightful readers, I’ll provide you with a sixth s’more variation. This one is bound to blow your tastebuds!
The SMASH MALLOW
Smash Mallows are snackable marshmallows in a variety of flavors ranging from root beer float to lemon poppyseed to cookie dough. See where I’m going with this? You can literally make any flavor into a delicious s’more! How about mint chocolate chip? They have that! Fancy something a bit more exotic? Try the coconut pineapple. Grab a flavor, toast them to gooey goodness, and create your s’more!
Have a magical summer creating s’mores and happy memories with your friends and family!
