Jackson Winter Closing Dates
Whether you have fun in the sun or thrive in the winter, Jackson has something for you. The trick is knowing when to do one and when to do the other. So when does summer officially yield to winter? Well, it depends. Here’s a list of selected Jackson attractions and their closing dates for the winter.
Ski Resorts Winter Closing Dates
Snow King:
- Summer activities end September 1.
- Ski season begins December 1.
Jackson Hole:
- The Jackson Hole ski resort’s summer activities end at a variety of different dates. For instance, the tram closes Oct 5. For the full list, check here.
- The ski season begins November 28.
Grand Teton National Park Visitor Centers and Facilities Winter Closing Dates
Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center (Moose):
- Closes Oct 31
Jenny Lake Visitor Center:
- Closes September 24.
Colter Bay Visitor Center:
- Closes October 1
Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve Center:
- Closes September 21.

Roads Winter Closing Dates
- Teton Park Road (between Taggart Lake Trailhead and Signal Mountain Lodge)
- Closes November 1 to vehicles, but remains open to hikers, bikers, and skiers until May 1.
Moose-Wilson Road
- Closes November 1.
Grassy Lake Road
- Closes based on conditions and is unplowed in the winter from Flagg Ranch to the west.

Jenny Lake Campground
- Closes September 28.
Gros Ventre Campground
- Closes October 10.
Colter Bay Campground
- Closes September 28.
