The Elk Refuge always gets great reviews.

Jackson is basically two different towns: one in the summer, and one in the winter. And with Summer Jackson now handing over the reins to Winter Jackson, you're probably wondering, "Well, what am I supposed to do till next summer?" We're glad you asked. Along with info on all the best skiing in Jackson (you do know that Jackson has great skiing, right?) we've also compiled a calendar of some of the most exciting Jackson winter events from now till the next summer season. Ski Calendar

Jackson Hole

  • Opens for winter sports November 28. Also hosts a variety of events for skiers and non-skiers alike, including film showings and Oktoberfest (see below). Learn what it has to offer here.

Snow King

  • Ski/snowboard season begins on or around December 1. Non-skiers can also enjoy attractions like the scenic gondola, fine dining, and an observatory. Find out more here.

Grand Targhee

  • Jackson's unofficial third ski resort is about an hour away. Here, the winter season begins November 21. Find out what else it has to offer here.

Jackson Hole Showcase of Homes

  • Tour some of Jackson’s most architecturally significant homes as part of the Fall Arts Festival. And by "architecturally significant," we mostly mean "big."

Indigenous Arts and Cultural Demonstration Program Speaker Series

  • September 13, 2025 (final event) – Colter Bay Visitor Center, Grand Teton National Park
  • Admission: Free
  • Native artists share traditions and contemporary practices through talks and demonstrations. This is a great opportunity to learn more about indigenous culture.

Snake River Brewing Company Cornhole Tournaments

  • September 18, 2025 – Snake River Brewing, Jackson, WY
  • Admission: $10 per player / $20 per team
  • A casual cornhole tournament hosted at Snake River Brewing. If a serious sport like cornhole can ever truly be considered "casual."

The Center Presents: Zaira Avalos – Celebrating the People and Culture of Oaxaca, Mexico

  • Who says you only have to learn about Jackson in Jackson? Come to a performance highlighting the traditions and culture of Oaxaca, Mexico.

Elkstoberfest

Jackson Hole Chamber Music and The Center Present: Bach and Blues

Oktoberfest – Teton Village

Town Square Lighting

  • The elk antler arches light up like Times Square, only with fewer billboards and way more cowboy hats.

Santa on the Square

  • Santa ditches the mall and sets up by a fire pit, because even the North Pole knows Jackson does cozy better.
